About us
Our Waste Management Technical Services Division is a specialist team of highly qualified staff with purpose-built processing facilities and specialised Dangerous Goods transport. Waste Management Technical Services can process hazardous and liquid wastes safely and with full compliance to government and council laws and by-laws governing liquid and hazardous waste disposal.
About the Role
We have a great opportunity for an experienced Transport Operations Supervisor to join our team based in East Tamaki, Auckland.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, the focus of this role will be to manage the productivity and safety performance of the transport fleet, ensuring company policies and procedures are met daily whilst ensuring the team meet production and safety targets through sustainable work practices.
A fundamental expectation is the successful individual will have a strong focus on delivering a safety culture whilst demonstrating an ability to achieve operational excellence within a high-performance environment.
You will ensure compliance requirements are achieved and provide drivers with the necessary support to operate their tasks in a safe and professional manner.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating transport services to ensure that they meet customer requirements.
- Liaising with the workshop on planned maintenance to ensure this doesn’t impact the customer.
- Managing daily driver inspection reports
- Coordinating drivers to maximise the efficiency of the run.
- Managing the computerised run sheet program
- Ensuring drivers are competent with licence and equipment requirements.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have demonstrated knowledge of transport regulations for the operation of heavy vehicles with knowledge of both fatigue management and the transport of dangerous goods.
You are a people leader, a strong communicator and have the ability to influence key stakeholders and a wide variety of people. You enjoy problem-solving and organising and have a strong Health and Safety mindset.
