Our Technical Services Division is a specialist team of highly qualified staff with class-leading purpose-built processing facilities and specialised Dangerous Goods transport. Waste Management Technical Services can process hazardous and liquid wastes safely and with full compliance to government and council laws and by-laws governing liquid and hazardous waste disposal.
About the Role
We have a great work opportunity for an experienced Operator to join our team in Lower Hutt, Wellington.
In this role, you will be assisting our team during the treatment and disposal of a wide variety of liquid and hazardous waste in a safe and responsible manner. The role will involve operating various plant and equipment and handling chemicals.
Key Responsibilities of the position will include
- Process waste received through the plant safely using the appropriate processing method
- Machinery operation – including forklifts, excavators, loaders, and specialised fixed plant, in a safe and responsible manner
- Ensure equipment is kept clean, tidy, and well-maintained
- Inwards / Outwards goods – Load and unload vehicles to make sure all paperwork is completed correctly
To be successful in this role you must have:
- Full NZ Driver’s license
- Forklift license or appropriate endorsements and experience for each machine that is required to be operated (desirable)
- First aid certificate (desirable)
- Experience in loading / unloading vehicles
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
