About the role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Trades Assistant to join our in-house Truck Workshop team based in Christchurch.
If you’ve always wanted to gain experience or further develop your existing experience by working on diesel trucks, then this is the opportunity for you!
In this role, you will be assisting qualified Tradespeople and team leaders directly with all aspects of repair or rectification work on defective vehicles or equipment.
- Assisting in fault/maintenance diagnostic activities
- Testing vehicle and equipment and ensuring all tools and equipment used in the performance of work is safe to use and stored in a clean and correct manner
- Maintenance servicing of heavy vehicles
Working Monday to Friday in our afternoon shift.
About you
We are looking for an individual with an interest in the heavy vehicle mechanical field. Training will be provided. We can offer apprenticeship programs for individuals who would like to progress and become qualified heavy vehicle mechanics.
You’re self-motivated, and your attention to detail is awesome, you enjoy working as part of a team as well as independently.
Having either a class 2 or 4 truck license would be desirable, but not necessary.
